Fusion is organized by New Media BC, a federally incorporated not-for-profit full service association whose membership is comprised of businesses, educational organizations, government agencies, and individuals whose core products and services include e-commerce, eLearning, web development, electronic games, digital animation, digital film, visual effects, software and tools, interactive products, and many more.
Founded in 1998, New Media BC has the mandate to strategically promote and connect BC’s thriving digital media companies and grow the industry by enlisting the support of government and private sector partners from BC and abroad. Our intent is to:
- Promote the industry as a world leader in digital media production
- Stimulate the growth of the digital media sector in BC
- Facilitate discussions between business leaders and government
- Aid industry to attract, train and retain talent
- Develop strategic recommendations that directly impact the digital media business environment
- Increase access to talent, skills development, funding and financing
- Increase international distribution and partnership opportunities for BC based companies
- Promote and recommend incentive programs to foster business growth within the sector
- Proactively develop tools and programs to achieve the objectives set out in this mandate… with style and grace.

Christine Lim-Labossière
Director, Fusion Venture Forum 2009
Christine Lim-Labossière brings to her role as Director of the Fusion Venture Forum over 25 years experience as an award winning director, broadcaster, event manager and administrator in the Film, Television and Digital Media Industry.
Her international portfolio includes having worked as the Deputy Director of the Singapore Film Commission, Regional Officer of Industry Development, International Officer (Asia-Pacific Initiatives) and Investment Analyst, at Telefilm Canada, the Canadian Federal Government Agency that funds film, television and digital media productions and initiatives. At the Vancouver Digital Week 2009 in May, she helmed the Vancouver International Partnering Forum as its Director, setting record targets in attendance and number of meetings for the premiere Vancouver B2B networking event for digital media companies.

Christine enjoys creating new opportunities and partnerships for NMBC members as their Manager of Industry Development and International Partnerships. Her extensive portfolio includes having been involved in industry development and international trade for over 7 years including the management of co-production events and trade pavilions in Canada, Korea and Singapore.
Kelly Verchere
Program Coordinator, Fusion Venture Forum 2009
Kelly has been extensively involved in the digital media field since the mid 90’s. She started as an on camera host for The Electric Playground, which introduced her to the digital media field and the video game industry. Captivated by the digital space she started working for Electronic Arts in the late 1990’s and more recently has been managing conference programs for the Vancouver International Digital Festival (VIDFEST), 2004-2008, and Cossette’s Convergence, 2008-2009. “The truth is I love to learn, and I feel privileged to have met so many exceptional people who push the boundaries in modern media.”
Cinci Csere
Media Relations, Fusion Venture Forum 2009
Cinci Csere is notorious within the public relations and marketing and communications industry. Where her reputation does not precede her, she’s known as a PR agent extraordinaire whose arsenal of deadly skills includes managing and coordinating seamless events and tradeshows, making companies a Rockstar on social media networks, and creating that “buzz” a company needs to get to that next level.
Whether it’s old school marcomm or getting your organization outfitted with the latest in Web 2.0 online marketing, out-of-the box is often the norm with Cinci.

Cinci is a veteran PR specialist and an avid traveler whohas lived in Japan, Australia and Mexico. Being ever the entrepreneur, shestarted EAT Communications in 2007, a boutique PR, marketing and communicationsfirm which is handling communications for Fusion Venture Forum.
Teresa Keefer
Accountant, Fusion Digital Media + Venture Forum
Teresa used the knowledge she gained through working with New Media BC to achieve the experience required to attain her Certified General Accountancy designation. Having received a Bachelor of Commerce from UBC she spent many years working in the Hotel Industry before moving over to the New Media sector. She now currently splits her time between the New Media sector and the Mini-Storage industry. No matter which industry Teresa is working for, she continues to be involved with operations on her family’s farm in Richmond where she grew up. Teresa can be found doing everything and anything from promotions and sales for the greenhouses or assisting with the cranberry harvest. Teresa is very flexible where one day she can be in the office producing financial reports while the next she is designing flowers for a wedding.
Philippe Filiatreault

Philippe Filiatreault is Manager of Membership and Programs at New Media BC and has been with the Association since April 2007. His educational studies include film and digital media at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, and writing and publishing at Simon Fraser University. Prior to New Media BC, Philippe worked for film and television productions with independent and Hollywood companies such as Brightlight Pictures, Insight Films, Warner Bros., Paramount Pictures, and NBC Universal. He is mainly interested in how digital media can be used for social change and activism to help ‘save our world’. As an amateur blogger he launched savetheworldmedia.com and exhauststinks.ca. He enjoys mountain biking, yoga, light weight training and is an avid fan of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Philippe lives in Burnaby with his wife and daughter.
